SCANIA was founded in 1900 in Malmö, Sweden under the name Maskinfabriksaktiebolaget Scania.
Many also know the company as SCANIA-VABIS, which was the result of a merger between 2 companies – Vagn Aktie Bolaget and Maskinfabriksaktiebolaget Scania in 1911.
The company has its headquarters in the Swedish city Södertälje, where they produce engines for Industry, Power generation and Marine.
The logo with the griffin is one of the most well-known and recognized engine brands – worldwide.

The engines comply with all existing emission rules worldwide and can therefore also be supplied with either IMO TIER II or IMO TIER III.
