TWIN DISC MARINE GEAR
The MG series is the traditional and well-known reversing gear with a power range from 35 HP to 4,000 HP. It is available with various accessories such as a trolling valve, electric shift valve, and/or power take-off options in hydraulic disengageable or Live PTO configurations.
The MGX-QuickShift is the new series of marine gears, starting at around 300 HP. The QuickShift gear is the only one on the market with a unique and patented coupling system that allows for quick engagement and disengagement while providing a very smooth transition.
This enables easy and precise maneuvering of the vessel down to nearly a standstill.
TWIN DISC ELEKTRONISK KONTROLSYSTEM
Twin Disc Power Commander Electronic Controls (EC300) is an electronic maneuvering system that allows for total control of the vessel at your fingertips by adjusting the propeller’s speed and direction.
The system can accommodate up to 5 controls connected to the same system, enabling maneuvering from various locations on the vessel as needed.
It is easy to install and designed to interface with all popular electronic engines and gears, including the QuickShift gear. Additionally, it can be retrofitted onto older boats with ease.

CUSTOMER REVIEW
“On September 1, 2020, we got salt water in our Volvo engine – it could not handle it – so we had to find a new engine for the ship.
Fate wanted Nordhavn Power Solutions A/S to visit the port of Thyborøn at the beginning of September with their Roadshow.
Together with Christian from 3xJ we visited their Roadshow, where they had a 5 cylinder Scania engine on display.
In the exhibition truck, the new gears from Twin Disc were also on display – Christian therefore thought that we should also look at them. I was a little interested, even though my 35 year old Twin Disc gear was running okay.
Before we left the roadshow, I ended up buying a new Scania DI 09 Scania engine with 350HP and a new Twin Disc gear from the MGX series.
Now we have been sailing with the new machinery for a while and the engine is running as it should – everything is fine.
The new gear has been a very positive experience and has three great features that we use.
It works like a regular gear.
The ability to drive with the very soft coupling, which is really good when you have to moor the ship – then everything goes quietly. The option “Express” and “Trolling” – ie. that the engine is set to a given speed (in our case it is 850 rpm) – where the throttle lever as gas on the screw. It has the huge advantage that when we lie down and hold the ship up in the wind, we can turn so far down the propeller that we only just keep the steering speed.
I can warmly recommend the new Twin Disc gear and am very happy that we got it down with the new engine.”
